Goma

As shown in the video below, hundreds of thousands of refugees are pouring into the city of Goma due to the fighting close to the city. I traveled there in September of 2021, despite the warning from the US State Department not to travel to DRC, and especially not to North Kivu Province. I sensed there was a connection there, and I discovered wonderful ministry partners who preached the Bible and cared for the poor, including hundreds of orphans. Goma is on the Eastern edge of DRC and borders Rwanda.

I found the people to be friendly, hospitable, and hungry for God. People met under canopies, tents, trees, and even out in the open. God moved powerfully while we were there. We do not want to just go to say we preached there, but it is our mission to partner with fruitful ministries such as these effectively to further the Kingdom of God. We worked together to provide Bibles, food, and water for a community with no natural source of water.

As you can see below, people gathered under tents, canopies, and trees to fellowship and hear God’s Word.
